A recent survey of the ATISDA membership found that 63.2% of members would like to take part in a hybrid of in-person and online events, while 31.6% would like to attend in-person events, and 5.2% would like online events only.

Question 1

Of the members (17) opting for in-person events, 35.3% would like to attend ATISDA-organized get-togethers at a venue selected by ATISDA and arrangements made for members to dine there. Following closely, in a tie for second and third place at 23.5% each, respectively, results reflect the desire for learning events on Saturdays and happy-hour gatherings. In fourth place, representing 17.6% of members, are cultural events in small groups.

Question 2

For members (16) who responded to online events exclusively, 56.3% would like to participate in networking events with a topic proposed by ATISDA. Following closely at 43.8% is the second-place preference of webinars on a specific topic with presenters recruited for online Saturday events.

Question 3

Some other ideas shared by the members asked whether in-person events could be held in north San Diego County/south Orange County, since some members would be travelling from that region. Moreover, a member offered to lead hikes or walks outdoors and/or urban spaces and, also expressed interest in gathering more frequently.

To conclude, the 2023 ATISDA survey had 19 responses which was less than the 2022 survey (23) and more than the 2021 survey (16).

The ATISDA Board thanks those members who actively participate in the scheduled events including the T&I Professional Development surveys. The information gathered will be used to plan online and in-person networking events for the year.
